Minority Women in Sports hosted a networking event as a pre-game experience in connection with a WNBA game, designed to bring together women leaders across the sports industry. The Phototique was engaged to design and deploy a multi-location branded photo strategy that would complement the event’s scale, reflect its celebratory tone, and encourage guests to share their experience widely.
The Strategy
We designed a Trading Card Photo Experience inspired by basketball culture, reimagined for women leading the sports industry.
Instead of generic captions, each card highlighted a participant’s “Core Strength”, using basketball terminology to connect leadership traits to the language of basketball. This aligned seamlessly with the organization’s mission of celebrating talent, resilience, and impact.
To maintain efficiency during a high-energy networking event:
Guests personalized their card with their name, favorite number, and core strength
Core strengths were selected from a curated dropdown menu, ensuring fast cueing and smooth guest flow
The experience remained polished, intentional, and scalable

Each guest received a fully personalized trading card designed as a collectible-style keepsake.

A selected “Core Strength.”
To maintain efficiency, core strengths were offered through a curated dropdown menu, keeping the guest flow moving while still delivering a personalized, premium experience.
Each printed card was presented in a trading card sleeve for an elevated finish, giving the takeaway the look and feel of a real sports collectible.
