One Conference.
Two Different Guest Experiences.

Bisnow brought us in for its three-day National Data Center Investment Conference & Expo in Bethesda, Maryland.

During the day, attendees needed something useful: a professional headshot.

But when the conference shifted into an evening networking reception, the energy changed.

We thought the photo experience should change with it.

Headshots by Day

During conference hours, we created a professional headshot experience where attendees could step in, update their photo, and receive both a printed and digital image immediately.

It gave guests something useful they could take away from the conference—not another piece of swag destined for the bottom of a bag.

Then We Flipped It.

When it was time for the evening reception, we didn’t leave the daytime headshot setup sitting in the room.

We changed the backdrop.

Changed the lighting.

Changed the photo design.

And turned the same footprint into a more social photo experience for the networking reception.

The professional conference environment became something guests could enjoy with the people they’d spent the day meeting and connecting with.

Why It Worked

This is one of my favorite examples of why I don’t believe every event needs one experience from beginning to end.

The purpose of the room had changed.

During the day, guests wanted a polished professional image.

At night, they were networking, socializing, and unwinding.

So we designed for both.

Our four-person team handled the experience each day, including the transition from daytime headshots to the evening setup.
